Approving or rejecting submittals

After you have downloaded and evaluated a submittal, you can approve or reject it to signify whether it meets your requirements.

To approve or reject a submittal:

  1. Open the transmittal that you want to approve or reject.
  2. In the Transmittal submittals section, select the checkbox next to the name of the submittal that you want to approve or reject.
  3. In the ribbon, in the Transmittal group, click Reject submitter(s) or Approve submitter(s).

Rejecting a submittal does the following:

    • Reverses the Finalize step of the submittal described in Creating a submittal.
    • Updates the Transmittal history section.
    • Sends an email notification to the submitter of the submittal. The submitter can respond with another submittal or in other appropriate ways, including finalizing the submittal again.

Accepting a submittal does the following:

    • The status of the transmittal changes to Approved.
    • Updates the Transmittal history section.
    • Sends an email notification to the submitter of the submittal.

After you approve a submittal, you can import its contents into the workspace as described in About Smart Paste.
